The painstaking work and intricate detail that goes into producing handmade globes has been captured in a series of captivating photographs.
Around 200,000 bespoke globes are made every year at the North London studio of Bellerby & Co. Globemakers - with each one selling at up to £59,000 a time.
The business was founded by Peter Bellerby, who swapped the bright lights and constant clattering of a tenpin bowling alley for the calmness of a fine art workshop.
Mr Bellerby's Stoke Newington studio now has A-list clients from all over the world and is seeing his creations grow in popularity after being featured on television and in magazines.
Such is the level of detail and preciseness that goes into them that Formula One fabricators are use to make moulds for the globes.
Mr Bellerby started Bellerby & Co. after spotting a gap in the market following a two-year search for a globe for his father's 80th birthday present. He wanted a globe which wasn't a 'cheap mass produced item, but also wasn't a 500-year-old antique' and it was the lack of well crafted globes on the market which forced the maker's hand.
The self-starting craftsman, who at the time was working as the boss of a bowling alley, decided that he would make his own, and after 18 months of what he said was 'frustration and concentration' his first globe and his new business was born.
