'We were approaching the airport going down the main boulevard when we saw my dad standing on the right-hand side of an island where you turn left for the airport or come back on yourself.
'We swung round the island and didn't stop on the red lines. My husband stopped on the exit of another car park, on white dashed lines.
'I jumped out of the car and hugged my dad because I hadn't seen him since he was ill and he got in the car,' Jaki said.
The mother-of-two added: 'I wasn't prepared to leave my dad standing on a roadside and drive off in a different direction - he has gone through enough trauma and hassle. It's absolutely disgusting.'
A week later, the family received a penalty notice, which said they had been fined £100 for picking Raymond up in a prohibited zone.

The notice the Gregorys received included three pictures of the car, all with time stamps, from the moment it stopped to when Jaki and Raymond had got back in the car, revealing the family was there for just 13 seconds.
The first image shows the car pulling over, with the boot popped from within the vehicle, at 11:21:28.
Jaki gets out of the car to hug her dad at 11:21:32.
They are both back in the car at 11:21:41.
The Gregorys appealed against the fine and appealed to VCS, the company which manages the area on behalf of the airport, but were told their appeal had been declined.
A spokesman for John Lennon Airport said: 'Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle involved in this incident will have passed over 20 signs advising this is a no-stopping area, with one large sign in clear view directly in front of where the vehicle stopped across the exit to one of the car parks, at the edge of a roundabout on the main dual carriageway road leading from the airport.
