World's shortest man's body to be flown back to Samoa

A memorial service will be held in American Samoa this afternoon for the world's shortest man.

Prince Chandra Bahadur Dangi, a performer in a Pacific islands circus, died in American Samoa of pneumonia over the weekend.
Prince Chandra, aged in his mid-seventies, was just 54.6cm in height.
Hailing from Nepal, Prince Chandra had been working in Samoa for the past year as a performer with the Magic Circus of Samoa.
He had recently battled ill health. In May he was admitted to the national hospital in Apia suffering from pneumonia and asthma.
Plans are being finalised for his body to be flown back to Apia to be cremated.
His ashes will then be taken back to Nepal by his nephew who had accompanied him on the circus’s current tour.
