A farmer in China came across the two snakes locked in battle in the street

This gruesome footage captures the moment two snakes battle to the death for ten minutes before the shorter of the two emerges the victor.
The shocking video was caught on a camera phone by Xiao Chunhua, a farmer living in the Chinese province of Sichuan, who was on the way to visit relatives when he spotted the snakes.
According to local reports the black reptile, which is believed to be a white bellied rat snake appeared to be winning at first.

The man said that it bit the smaller snake on the back and even drew blood from it.
However, the patterned reptile, a king ratsnake, began to turn things around and it wasn't long before it bit back, harder.

The farmer then watched in horror as the aggressive king ratsnake began swallowing the longer reptile, despite being almost five feet shorter than its enemy.
The video, which has been sped up and condensed in parts, concludes with the rat snake very much dead, while the patterned reptile continues to eat its enemy in its entirety

The king ratsnake does not produce venom, but is known for being extremely predatory and even got its name for its appetite for snake.
The reptile, which is found in Southeast Asia and East Asia, suffocates its prey by constriction, in a similar to a boa and a python.
The other name for the species is the Taiwan stink snake on account of its highly developed post-anal gland, which it empties when disturbed.

The video concluded with the rat snake very much dead, while the patterned reptile continued to eat it in its entirety
